There are lots of different ways to approach creating content. If you're self-employed, it's your job to learn the best way for your business and/or modify someone else's to fit you. Alternatively, you might come up with a process all your own. In this post, I share 3 Elements of Content Creation you can use repeatedly.
To start, let's address what content is.
Content is a way of communicating to your (potential) customers that you can relate to their challenges and problems, you understand their needs and you have a viable solution or tips to help or resolve their issue.
Content is the heart and voice of your business and what you stand for as a brand.
Content is the vehicle to help your customers achieve what they want and need and for you to make money. It's no different than going to a restaurant and paying to eat. The restaurant provides you with a product and service, the convenience of someone else doing the cooking and cleaning up the mess...
When YOU are your BRAND and you provide service for others, you should expect periodic phases where change is needed. You might change what you value, believe in, talk about and care about. AND you'll likely change your business goals, objectives and maybe embark on an adventure of multiple interests to see what sticks!
Your business is much more than a logo, fonts and tagline! In fact, while brand identity is important, the products and services you're putting out into the world are the ultimate factor in helping your customers get results!
If you feel out of alignment and *the work* starts to feel draining, that's a RED FLAG you need to STOP and take time to investigate WHY! This cycle is something I've experienced a few times and each time, I needed to change my business, not just my branding.

All of this is easily fixable. The journey is as much about personal growth as business growth and I can appreciate wanting results -- but, everything happens in it's in own right time and when we force things, we don't always get the results we want anyway.
YOU are the driver of your destiny but, if you don't believe in that or yourself, you'll stay stuck. Circumstances might not always be our choice but, how we deal with them most certainly is! Do you remember the first people you were awe struck by online?
They likely had something that you believed you wanted or needed at that time. Maybe they spoke your language and metaphors. You felt they understood your challenges or struggles clearly. When they spoke, you believed they actually cared and were genuine.
That’s how it should be but, often isn’t the case!
Let's keep it real, shall we. While self-promotion is obviously central and essential to making money, there are do's and don't's that will make a difference, especially for budding entrepreneurs. If you're relatively new or trying to scale, please consider the following questions:
-Do you really understand what your community wants and needs (maybe more than they do)?
-Do you know how to effectively communicate that to them…going deeper and more personal?
-What proof do you have that YOU can...

When you're an emerging solo-entrepreneur achieving goals in a reasonable time can be challenging. A great goal might be creating sustainable income so you can add to your team and plan out the year well in advance. Goals are something I’ve struggled but, working for myself has helped me get better at it. Having multiple goals at once leads to stagnation. For many entrepreneurs, the biggest challenge is choosing one goal at a time and persevering without getting sidetracked. Sound familiar?
